Sending an eFax

for The Healing Place of New Hanover County

Before we get faxing, you need to know...

  1. Your document must be a supported file type - PDF is preferred, TXT, TIFF, DOC, DOCX, BMP, PNG, and JPG also work.
  2. The Fax Mailbox of your campus - It's located underneath your own mailbox in Outlook under Groups - If you can't see it and you think you're supposed to, call us. The mailbox name is "fax-general" or "fax-detox".
  3. The fax number you wish to send a fax to.

Setting Up your Outlook Client - DON'T SKIP THIS STEP

Before sending faxes, you need to add the ability to 'send from' the fax service by opening up a new email and clicking the following buttons:
Select Options > Show Fields > select From - This will add the From field above your To field in the email and allow you to choose where the email is being sent from.

On the From drop-down box, select Other Email Address (1). A small window will appear in the middle of the screen. Select the From button (2) which will open the address book (3). From the Address Book drop-down list, select All Groups (3), and then finally select either fax-detox or fax-general (4) from the list and press OK.

**If the email addresses are already present, like the image below, delete them by pressing the X to the right of each**

Just looking for our fax numbers? Look no further!
 General: 910.970.4672     Detox: 910.970.4671
You will find inbound faxes in the Inbox of the mailbox in Outlook.

Let's get faxing!

  • Create a New Email from your email client (Outlook).
  • Take a look at the 'From' field. It's a drop-down box, and when you press it, you will see an additional email address fax-general@thpnc.org or fax-detox@thpnc.org to send faxes from. Select it.
  • Enter the fax number you want to send to in the 'To' field, adding @ipfax.net to the end of it. Take a look at this Example: '15024058181@ipfax.net'. Remember to use the international format with a '1' at the beginning.
  • Fill in the rest of the optional information as follows:
    • SubjectOptional. You can use this to add a reference to search for faxes in the future.
    • Body: Optional. This will either be the Cover Page or the fax message itself if no attachment is added.
  • Attach the supported file you wish to fax.
  • Hit 'Send' and you are done faxing!
